How Do I Rerun Water Lines?

Rerunning water lines is a time consuming process. If you are using copper water lines, you need to measure and cut the piping to an appropriate length. If “runs” are long you will need pipe strapping or hangers to prevent sagging. Once you have your piping cut and measured out you will need to solder them together using a lead free solder. You do not want lead leaching into your water.

If you are using plastic piping (PEX) this will be much less labor intensive but you will need to invest in specialized tools to secure the piping together. If the “runs” are long you will need to strap them to the walls/ceiling.
