Why is my water heating not working the way it used to?
As water heaters age they develop mineral particles which settle into the bottom of the water heater. You are supposed to flush your tank to remove these particles. However, many people do not do the recommended maintenance. In this case, the minerals form a barrier between the water and the burner. Thus it takes a lot longer to heat the water. Try flushing your water heater tank. If this does not solve your issues, then it may be your gas control valve starting to fail. We recommend tank replacement instead of part replacement if this is the case.
