Low water pressure is one of the most common plumbing issues we see and lucky for you, it is relatively easy to repair. Our team can come in the same day and we are going to make your shower great again!
Potential Issues
- The most common issues with water pressure are often related to clogged or corroded pipes.
- Leaking pipes lead to pressure issues as well.
- Faucet aerators or clogged faucets can impact your water pressure as well.
- Hot water heater issues can cause reduced pressure as well. If only your hot water is coming out slow, that is likely the problem.
Inspect PRV Valve
A comfortable PSI is between 40-50 so if it reads lower than that on your monitor, it could be the PRV. This will be mounted on your water main and it resembles a cap with a screw on top of it. Most PRV’s are set at a standard 50 PSI, but it can be adjusted by turning the screw that is on top of the cap. These mechanisms last about 15-20 years and if it hasn’t been changed, it can be the culprit for your low water pressure.
