Levine and Sons did an awesome job on a new bathroom install in my basement so far. The crew and Bill have been super professional and knowledgeable and interested in doing things the right way. It was a big job involving breaking up cement and doing a new rough in and they did a great job on the work and the clean up. Even the city inspector was impressed especially when they went above and beyond to install an additional clean out for no extra charge. So far top notch service. Thanks team!

I can't thank David M enough, he has given me one of the best customer service experiences of all time. My water heater died this morning and David was on site immediately after I called. Within hours he replaced my water heater and I didn't even go an entire day without hot water. He was very patient and discussed our options and what would be best for our home. David also identified a few other issues I didn't even know about and was quick resolve the issues on the spot. Thanks again David M, I would vote you the best plumber in Redford any day!

There are a few measures you can take to know for sure if your sump pump is working or not. The first thing you will want to check is that your exterior drain pipe is free of any debris by ensuring that it’s directing the water away from your foundation. Secondly, check the power and see if you can hear the motor running. Lastly, pour a bucket of water into the pit to trigger the pump’s automatic start which should drain quickly once the pump is triggered. If the pump doesn’t start and/or doesn’t empty, call Levine & Sons to have a professional plumber further investigate the problem.
Sump pumps typically fail because they are overworked. If your basement floods for example, a single sump pump (especially an older one) may become overworked and unable to adequately handle such a high level of water. This is why it is vital to always have yearly maintenance done by a certified plumber at Levine & Sons to make sure your sump pump is in the best condition that it can possibly be in and thus much less likely to fail.
The most important thing you can do to make sure your sump pump doesn’t fail is to always have a plumbing expert at Levine & Sons perform the proper maintenance at least once a year. Another measure you can take to ensure your sump pump doesn’t fail prematurely is if you notice your pump isn’t working correctly, have a Levine & Sons plumber come out and address the issue right away.
While there are ways for the homeowner to test their sump pump, it can be a complex process and is best practice to have a trusted plumbing expert at Levine & Sons complete the test.
Common reasons for a sump pump to fail include improper installation, plugging your sump pump into a low-voltage extension cord that supplies low voltage, incorrect sizing, and mishandling. When it comes to installing, handling, and maintaining, it’s always best to have a certified plumber at Levine & Sons tend to these issues to ensure your sump pump doesn’t fail unnecessarily.
Most sump pumps have an average life expectancy of seven to ten years. If your sump pump is nearing the latter and beginning to experience random issues, you will need professional repair services from Levine & Sons at the least, and potentially a full replacement at the worst. Call the experts at Levine & Sons to have one of our certified plumbers come out to your Southfield, MI home, assess your sump pump, and diagnose the issue.
If you notice any visible rusting or corrosion on your sump pump, otherwise known as iron bacteria, you will need to call Levine & Sons as soon as possible to have your sump pump inspected. Iron bacteria can actually be toxic to humans, so for the health and safety of your family, you will likely need Expert Sump Pump Repair Services.
Your sump pump should operate relatively quietly so if you notice it begin making unfamiliar loud noises, your pump is probably experiencing issues. Noises such as grinding and rattling are an indication of a jammed impeller which will require Professional Sump Pump Repair Services from Levine & Sons.
Oftentimes when there is an issue with your sump pump’s float switch, it will cause the system to run constantly. Constant running of a sump pump is an issue and will need to be promptly addressed by a certified plumber at Levine & Sons.
